The Criminal Investigation and Detection Group-7 has warned illegal recruiters that their days are numbered.

CIDG-7 spokesperson Senior Inspector Edwin Lacostales said they have revived a task force against illegal recruiters in compliance with the directive of President Rodrigo Duterte to go after illegal recruiters.

Lacostales said the police now have enough time for illegal recruitment after the anti-drug operation was left to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency.

“Dati naman may task force diyan against illegal recruiter so ni reiterate lang natin,” said Lacostales.

Superintendent Ryan Devaras, chief of the Cebu City Police OfficeIntelligence and Detective Management Bureau, said they will also step up in the campaign against illegal recruiters.

Devaras said they will strengthen intelligence monitoring against suspected illegal recruiters in the city.

“Kani man gud ang mga illegal recruiters kay ilang mga biktimahon kani ra pud ang mga pobre nga gusto makagawas, ma fall sila sa trap sa mga illegal recruiter,” Devaras said.

Devaras urged the public to coordinate with the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) before transacting with any recruitment agency.

Duterte directed on Wednesday the CIDG and the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) to go after the illegal recruiters. He said human trafficking is a serious problem that needs to be addressed at the soonest time possible.
