The Department of Labor and Employment-Negros Oriental field office, which include Dumaguete City, has been reunited with the DOLE Regional Office-7, while the Bacolod City Field Office of the DOLE-Negros Occidental is back to DOLE Regional Office 6, as a result of the dissolution of the Negros Island Region (NIR).

DOLE-7 Regional Director Cyril Ticao, during the turnover ceremony, assured everyone that the DOLE-7 will be supporting the Negros Oriental Field Office "with the same vigor and intensity as when it was still attached to Region-7 before the creation of NIR."

Director Exequiel Sarcauga, who was the DOLE regional director of the NIR for more or less than five months, turned over the ceremonial keys of responsibility last week to Regional Director Johnson Cañete of DOLE-6 and Ticao of DOLE-7.

DOLE-7 in a statement said the turnover ceremonies took place at the Negros Occidental Capitol in Bacolod City, and attended by regional officials, staff, and personnel of the three involved regions, as well as the DOLE-6's Regional Coordinating Committee member-agencies.

The event officially marked start of the field offices of Negros Oriental and Negros Occidental operating and implementing programs and services under the banners of their respective mother regional offices.

Ticao, in his acceptance speech, told Sarcauga: "Rest assured that we will definitely continue and finish what you have started with NIR.
