Two of the suspects, Petes Carlth Cabras, 21, and Cedrick Precillas, 25, both residents of Sitio Manga, Barangay Mambaling, Cebu City, were arrested for bringing an unlicensed .22 cal. revolver with live rounds and a replica revolver around 4:30 a.m. yesterday at R.R. Landon Street in Barangay Sta. Cruz.

They were arrested with another suspect who claimed to be a minor.

Chief Inspector Maria Theresa Macatangay, chief of the Fuente Police Station, said that the three belonged to a group operating in Cebu City, and were blamed for several cases of theft and robbery in the Fuente area and in barangays Mambaling and Punta Princesa.

She added that since last month, there has been an observable increase in theft and robbery incidents in their area of responsibility.

Macatangay said the suspects used a motorcycle in their robberies and rotated who will be the lookout and who dismount from the motorcycle to threaten victims with a gun.

She added they are now checking to see if the motorcycle they used was stolen.

“Based on our initial investigation, the manner that they do their operation is quite orchestrated, there is a procedure being done. Kani si Petes and Cedrick mapuli-puli og tiglabni, tig-tion, og tig backpack,” Macatangay said.

The three face charges for illegal possession of firearms.

Macatangay urged possible victims of the suspects to come forward and file a complaint against them. She said four people have already come forward to do so.

“For the victims of robbery hold-up, theft, akyat bahay and even car napping in the areas under Station 2 (Fuente). If you are one of the victims we urge you to come forward, and file corresponding cases,” Macatangay said.

The police are conducting follow-up operations to identify the leader of the said group.

Last Monday, around 11 p.m. along Gov. M. Roa Street, Barangay Capitol Site, Vincent Binoyo Pitong, 18, and a 15-year-old, both residents of Sitio Mahayahay, Barangay Calamba, Cebu City, were arrested after they were allegedly caught in the act of stealing a motorcycle.

In an interview, Pitong claimed it was his first time committing such a crime. He blamed the minor for initiating the theft but they will both face charges for carnapping.
