Training and consultancy firm Amici Initati Incorporated, which is partly managed by Department of Tourism (DOT-7) regional director Rowena Montecillo, announced the opening its extensive training program for tour guides and travel company managers.

The company will initially offer two special crash courses in Bohol, whose tourism potential has been hit with several challenges in the recent years.

"The regional tour guide training course will run from November 13 to December 16, while the Travel Company Management Course will be on December 13 to 15, 2017. Both studies will be held in BDMPC Building at CPG East Avenue, Tagbilaran City," Montecillo announced.

She said these workshops are open invitations for qualified candidates.

The tour guide training aims to address the need to strengthen the availability of trained and competent tour guides in the region.

Stressing on professionalizing the manpower and business components of the highly service-driven tourism industry, Montecillo emphasized that it is a perennial challenge to equip the learners with the appropriate know-how to excel in this field.

"Amici Initiati is armed with the sound linkage and expertise in the tourism operation, training and academic field to deliver graduates par excellence who are definitely what the industry demands," Montecillo added.

The official DOT accreditation of this newly formed training and consultancy company is still on process. —
