2 men, 3 minors caught doing drug session in Balamban

Five people, including three minors, were arrested after they were caught in plain view by police having a drug session in Barangay Abucayan, Balamban town on Tuesday evening.

Police Chief Inspector Janette Rafter, Balamban police chief, said that her team went to Barangay Abucayan to conduct a follow-up investigat­ion regarding a series of robbery and theft incidents in the area, when a concerned citizen informed them about group of persons having a drug session nearby.

Rafter said that they received reports that the suspects in the series of robbery incidents in the town involved minors, which lead police to intensify operations.

With the informatio­n given by the concerned citizen, Balamban police immediatel­y proceeded to the area and caught the five suspects.

The suspects were identified by Rafter as Danilo ‘Pahak' Lee, 19; and Rico Subingsubi­ng, 18, and the three minors, all residents of the barangay.

Recovered from the suspects were one small pack containing white crystallin­e substance believed to be shabu and several drug parapherna­lia.

Both Lee and Subingsubi­ng are now detained at the Balamban police station pending filing of appropriat­e charges, while the three minors are now under the custody of the Department of Social Welfare and Developmen­t (DSWD).
