The Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA) will hold its annual cadet admission test tomorrow at the University of CebuBanilad campus.

The exam will be from 9 a.m. to 12 noon, but applicants are encouraged to arrive as early as 7 a.m.

It is expected that applicants from different places in the region will be coming to Cebu.

The examination will include communication, mathematics, logic, and general history subjects.

Three Cebuano PNPA cadets yesterday visited the Cebu City Police Office not only to answer applicant's inquiries but also to encourage other interested youth to join the academy and become one of the PNP's future leaders.

First Class Cadet Stephen Abrica, a native of Barangay Basak-San Nicolas, Cebu City; and siblings Feb and Jec Seares, residents of Tisa, Cebu City, are part of Classes 2019 and 2020, respectively.

Abrica said his father encouraged him to enter the PNPA and he never had any regret.

He was already a fourth year Electrical Engineering student when he decided to join the PNPA.

“With the training, actually lisod siya. Pero, as time goes by, naganahan ko sa opportunity tapos nakita nako ang mga maanindot nga opportunity bilang usa ka public servant. Nagpasalamat ko sa akong papa,” said Abrica.

The Seares siblings, for their part, said they have always aspired to become a part of PNP.

Feb said he wanted to serve the Cebuanos once he graduates from the PNPA. His brother Jec, on the other hand, does not mind where he would be assigned in the future, as long as he can serve the public.

Despite the controversies that the PNP is currently facing, the three cadets are unfazed.

They said that they will continue fighting for what is right and will try to eradicate the wrongdoings of their fellow members.

“Sa PNPA, gitudluan mi nga aduna mi honor. So, kung aduna man gyuy nagpabadlong amo lang paningkamotan nga dili mi mopuno og ma-eradicate namo og unsa man ang ilang sayop nga binuhatan,” said Feb.

Interested applicants may visit the PNPA official Facebook page or pnp.edu. ph website for inquiries. Applicants may also send their application through email by sending it to pnp. edu.ph.

Graduates of PNPA will be future leaders of the PNP, Bureau of Jail and Penology and the Bureau of Fire Protection.
