Quisumbing said the city government will also shoulder the expenses needed in the investigation of the case.

“Not only will I offer a reward but we will also make funds available for the operation to make sure that we will be able to do this very quickly,” Quisumbing said.

He, however, did not disclose how much would be the cash reward. But he said he took the shooting to death of PO1 Mae Sasing as a personal insult and wanted to be solved soonest.

“I want this case to be solved quickly; I want it done as efficiently as possible. For me, when it comes to crimes like this, I take it personally. I really feel personally insulted that these criminals thought that they could commit this crime in Mandaue City and get away with it,” Quisumbing said.

The footages from the closed-circuit television cameras obtained by Mandaue City Police Office suggested that Sasing was tailed by her assailants from Lapu-Lapu City where she was assigned.

Chief Inspector Mercy Villaro, information officer of Mandaue City Police Office, said the victim was consistently followed by the suspects until they reached Barangay Basak, Mandaue City where the shooting happened.

"Consistent nga gi-follow siya gikan LapuLapu," Villaro said.

The video shows that from Lapu-Lapu City, the assailants on board a motorcycle tailed Sasing to Marcelo Fernan Bridge then to Pacific Mall until in Barangay Basak.

The motorcycle used by the assailants was the same motorcycle recorded in the blotter.

At least four video footages are now in the possession of the police. These will be submitted for enhancement in Camp Crame.

“Her cellphone will be checked if there are possible messages related to her death,” Villaro added.

A task group was already created upon the instruction of Police Regional Office-7 Director Jose Mario Espino. The task group will focus on the investigation of the case.

Sasing was shot dead on October 31 while on her way home to Barangay Jugan, Consolacion from Lapu-Lapu City where she was assigned.
