A man was killed after the motorcycle he was driving hit a van in Barangay San Isidro, Talisay City, around 5:30 a.m. yesterday.

Doronio was heading to Barangay Tabunok while Dela Cruz was coming in from the opposite direction heading to southern Cebu. According to witnesses, both vehicles were trying to beat the red light and were traveling at high speed.

After the impact, Doronio was thrown to the pavement while his motorcycle was dragged a few meters away. He suffered critical injuries and was brought to the Talisay District Hospital but where he died a few hours later.

Dela Cruz is currently detained at the city's custodial facility. Cuyacot said the accident may be settled through possible amicable settlement between the family of the victim and the side of Dela Cruz.

Around 11 a.m. in Barangay Libjo, Tabogon town, a three-year-old boy was also killed after he was hit by a tricycle along the National Highway.

Alexis Lepala, of Barangay Mabuli of the same town, was killed after he was hit by the motorcycle driven by Mark Aton, 23, a resident of Barangay Gairan, Bogo City.
