Embattled exec still has Davide's trust
Governor Hilario Davide III said Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) Head Baltazar Tribunalo still has his full support, despite the multiple allegations the latter is recently facing.
Davide said that he thinks there is a malicious intent behind the allegations against the PDRRMO leader.
Among the allegations hurled against Tribunalo include the one that he allegedly touched the behind of a female Capitol employee in a meeting five months ago.
The female employee had already written her complaint with the Provincial Women's Commission (PWC).
The PWC is currently investigating the matter.
Davide said that he knows Tribunalo and he does not believe in the accusation.
Another allegation against Tribunalo was that he reportedly received appliances from a sand and gravel company in exchange of securing a permit for their business.
The governor clarified that he was informed by Tribunalo about the appliances a long time ago. He added that he does not see an issue especially that the items are being utilized in the PDRRMO Command Center.
“Kanang sa TV dugay naman na giestorya ni Baltz nako para man na sa opisina niya diha katong bag-ong opisina diha sa PDRRMO, gamit man ng TV kay that's what we use for monitoring,” the governor said.
Davide also addressed those who questioned Tribunalo on why the AntiIllegal Fishing Task Force was moved under the wing of the Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office which Tribunalo also heads.
“Nganong mo-complain man sila? He is just following my executive order,” the governor emphasized.
With the series of allegations against the PDRRMO chief this month, Davide believes there is a deeper motivation behind the controversies.
"Ako, di ko motoo niana. Kanang mga allegations, I sense some malice there," he said.
Despite the allegations, the governor expressed that he trusts the PDRRMO chief who has been very "dedicated and hardworking" in his work.
"He has my full faith and trust. Naa lang gyuy wa nakauyon, suya tingali," Davide added.
