CSBT expects to exceed P65M collection target
The collection at the Cebu South Bus Terminal (CSBT) has already reached P56 million this year, an amount P2 million higher from the previous year of the same period.
Based on its report, the CSBT collected P34 million from bus terminal fee, P7.8 million from taxis and vehicles entering the terminal, P6.3 million for the use of the comfort rooms, P7.8 million on rentals and over P700,000 from other collections.
The CSBT has recorded its highest collection last May, when it reached P6.1 million.
CSBT Head Joey Herrera said they don’t have any problem with their collection and they expect to exceed the P65.7-million target collection this year.
The province-run terminal has asked for a P32million budget for next year, a decrease of P5 million from its current year budget.
Herrera said they asked for a lower budget considering they have already implemented major projects this year.
These projects include the installation of solar renewable energy that gave the terminal savings on electricity expenses, the purchase of the generator and the installation of the information display system that indicated the departure and arrival of the bus in the terminal.
Next year, the terminal management will put a canopy at the arrival area as well as at the back portion of the terminal that would serve as the current waiting area for the passengers.
With the canopy installed at the waiting area, Herrera said there’s no need to put up tents to shelter the passengers while waiting, especially during weekend where an influx of passengers is expected in the terminal.
Herrera said that at least 35,000 passengers are expected to flock to the terminal during weekends, given the number of trips per day that reaches to 700 buses. —
