2 men ‛smug­gling’ guns ar­rested by port po­lice in Pier 1, Cebu City

The Cebu Port Au­thor­ity ar­rested two per­sons for il­le­gal pos­ses­sion of firearms at Pier 1, Cebu City on Sun­day evening.

CPA Se­cu­rity Divi­sion Man­ager Glenn Sal­ador said that pas­sen­ger Euli­giano Bueno Ca­mance Jr., 43, from Barangay Guina­cot, Danao City was ques­tioned when CPA per­son­nel found 17 pieces of .45 cal­iber and four pieces of .38 cal­iber firearms in his pos­ses­sion last Sun­day evening.

Ca­mance was bound for Oza­mis City. Sal­ador said that when he was ques­tioned by CPA per­son­nel, Ca­mance called up Richel Vallejo Puno, 40, of Si­tio Ilaya, Barangay Talam­ban, Cebu City.

Vallejo was just out­side the pier and was also ap­pre­hended by port au­thor­i­ties.

"Ang duha karon kay naa sa CPA tem­po­rary de­ten­tion cell wait­ing for charges to be filed against them," said Sal­ador.

Sal­ador said that charges of il­le­gal pos­ses­sion of firearms may be filed against the two to­day.
