Slimming Down the White

Any girl feeling bloated or not in shape is not likely to pick white from the colors available in her closet. White has always been known as a color that makes one look fuller, or bigger. But that may only be one side of white.

White looks dainty, and wearing white can make one10 times classier. And the color can be paired with almost anything! In fact, it’s possible to look slim with white – if one is smart in picking the appropriate pieces to put an OOTD together.

On regular days, while running some quick errands or walking the dog, a white v-neck shirt may be paired with simple denim shorts and plain old white chucks. V-necks create the illusion of a longer neck, which in turn can make for a slimmer look. To diffuse the visual volume, the trick is to wear loose pieces; wearing skintight white is double whammy since anything skintight can be harder to wear.

On a corporate event, a colored tank top with white pants and white blazer and white pumps make a great set! Not only do white pumps add some height, these also create the illusion of longer and slender legs. Or white Sunday dress may be paired off with some bold accessory such as a bangle or a pair of red lips or even a metallic thick belt to cinch the waist – and to draw others’ eyes away from physical flaws.

There’s actually no reason to get scared to go all white! It only takes creativity in wearing and pairing the right pieces. White just has to be worn correctly and added with a pop of color in order to veer the focus away from the problem areas of one’s body.

White works well with minimalism and yet it can be quite versatile. Subtle pieces could make for either a daring or a sweet look, depending on the occasion. But of course, any outfit would not look as fabulous without the wearer’s confidence – and smile.
