A case has been filed against the two women arrested last Saturday after they attempted to smuggle shabu inside the Cebu City Jail by hiding the illegal substances in their private parts.

Marilyn Estorgio, 20, and Violeta Bacus, 43, were charged for violating Section 11 (possession of dangerous drugs) of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

According to the report from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), Bacus carried with her 73.1914 grams of shabu while Estorgio brought 4.7778 grams. The total value of the confiscated drugs is estimated to be more than P350,000.

The two suspects are currently detained at the Guadalupe Police Station.

There are no further reports if the women have already given their respective statements for their counter-affidavits.

“Naa ra jud sa ila,” City Jail Warden Renante Rubio told The FREEMAN in a phone interview.

Estorgio and Bacus were arrested some thirty minutes apart after Jail Officer Maria Geraldine Galsing noticed an item hidden in their private parts during the routine search conducted on all visitors to the jail.

Both women were about to visit their live-in partners who are imprisoned at the city jail also both on drug-related charges.
