Cebu Muay Thai dominates Talisay kickboxing

Four Team Cebu Muay Thai fighters hurdled their respective assignment­s in the seventh sequel of Muay Thai and Kickboxing Invitation­al dubbed as ‘Backyard Brawl’ the other night at the Dumlog Sports Complex in Barangay Dumlog, Talisay City.It was a clean sweep for the boys of Muay Thai Associatio­n of the Philippine­s-Visayas chapter head Master Benigno ‘Ekin’ R. Caniga Jr. in the said amateur kickboxing event.

Female warrior Lymel Villacrusi­s led Team Cebu’s charge as she only needed 29 seconds to stop Leah Hara of Arcomjukai of Mandaue City.

Middleweig­ht Clint Jun Bahala connected with a vicious body shot that sent Petronilio Cornetes of Arcomjukai crashing into the canvass in the second round.

Jezrel Angcon demolished Ernesto Lander in the final 32 seconds of the second round in their lightweigh­t showdown, while bantamweig­ht Allan Albindo destroyed Dario Ympanto also in the first round.

Meanwhile, veteran Michael Rebayos of Redneos Gladiator Muay Thai scored a second round knockout against Marciano Torion of Arcomjukai, while his teammates April Jhon Maraat, Ryuji Ozaki and Francis Racal were also triumphant.

Maraat punished Brille Tulod of Black Panther MMA, while Ozaki silenced Robert Baligsi as Racal pounced Mike Lois Noval.

Jesmark Gomez bounced back for Black Panther as he battered Jayson Coyoca in the first round. —
