Two high-value targets nabbed
Two high-value drug personalities yielded P250,000 worth of illegal drugs in two separate buy-bust operations in Cebu City yesterday dawn.
Operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in Central Visayas (PDEA7) arrested Rosalita Monteadora, 50, along Borromeo Street in Barangay Pahina Central at 2:35 a.m.
Two hours later, PDEA agents also arrested Domineciano Calunsag, 53, a security guard, of C. Padilla Street, Barangay Pahina San Nicolas.
Seized from Monteadora were 20 grams of shabu worth P100,000, while 30 grams of shabu worth P150,000 were recovered from Calunsag.
PDEA-7 Spokesperson Leia Albiar said Monteadora and Calunsag can dispose around 100 and 200 grams of drugs, respectively, a week.
Albiar said Monteadora's husband is serving jail time for involvement in illegal drugs. Calunsag, on the other hand, has a sibling who has been jailed for drugs.
According to PDEA, the 50-year-old drug suspect has recently transferred her illegal drug business to Pahina Central from the neighboring barangay of Ermita.
Albiar said both operations underwent two weeks of surveillance.
The seized illegal drugs have been submitted to the Crime Laboratory for inventory and tracking.
The suspects are temporarily detained at the PDEA-7 detention cell pending the filing of charges for violating Sections 5 and 11 of Article II of Republic Act 9165, the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002.
