CSBT collects P440T in 4 days

The revenue of the Cebu South Bus Terminal (CSBT) has reached almost half a million in the past four days.

According to CSBT Manager Joey Herrera, the terminal's income increased by around P30,000 compared to the same period last year.

Based on bus arrivals and departures, CSBT earned P109,000 (Dec. 22), P106,350 (Dec. 23) P121,750 (Dec. 24) and P103,350 (Dec. 25).

A total of 131,010 passengers departed from the terminal from December 22 to December 25.

Each bus carries a maximum of 55 passengers. Herrera said the bus operators observed the maximum capacity of the vehicles before leaving the terminal.

Each bus, which leaves the terminal, pays P150 terminal fee. On the other hand, each arriving bus pays P50.

There were 1,820 bus arrivals from December 22 to 25. The bus departures, on the other hand, reached 655, exceeding the usual 500 daily departure trips. On Christmas Eve alone, the buses were able to transport 36, 025 passenger.

Herrera said the passengers usually come a day before Christmas.

On December 22, there were 592 bus trips, while 579 the following day. The bus trips were equivalent to 32,560 and 31,845 passengers respective­ly.

The lowest record was on Christmas Day with 556 bus trips, transporti­ng 30,580 passengers.

The bus terminal management said there were no untoward incidents reported during those dates.

Security of the passengers, said Herrera, remains their utmost priority.
