Chepsiror, Monsanto rule 39th Mano Amon footrace

Kenyan runner Erick Chepsiror and local talent Jelma Monsanto topped their respective divisions in the 39th Halad Kang Mano Amon Run in Danao City on the eve of Christmas Day.

Chepsiror bagged the men's 12K title after posting the fastest time of 32 minutes and 57 seconds. Joseph Arnel Emia placed second with a 35:48 clocking followed by Kenyan James Mibie in 37 minutes and 21 seconds.

Monsanto snared the women's crown with a time of 42 minutes and eight seconds. Jovelyn Roca wound up second in 45:40 as Cherry Andrin came out third in 46:37.

The top three finishers in the 6K battle were Jeboy Magbologto­g (25:18), Harold Kim Guiao (25:22), and Alex Niño Silverio (28:08) in the men's category and Rhena Rose Corazon (32:09), Aubrey Lusanta (33:56) and Merlina (36:45) in the distaff side.

In the 3K action, Regie Magbologto­g (15:38), Richard Vallaram II (17:47) and John Rey Bacahog (17:48) occupied the top three spots in the boys class, while Lehlet Arendain (26:13), Angelie Mae Lawas (26:34), and Merlene Perez (27:14) emerged as the winners in the girls bracket.

The other top performers were Alfredo Tabago (17:06) and Frailyn Monte (22:22) in the 3K collegiate, Nino Jay Genzon (17:37) and Honeylou Legazpi (21:00) in the 3K high school, and Kirk Nanz Allison (18:25) and Annabella Prieto (25:20) in the 3k elementary category.—
