Most handsome faces of 2017
BTS’ Kim Taehyung topped TC Candlers’ list of The 100 Most Handsome Faces for 2017.
Taehyung’s group, BTS or Bangtan Sonyeondan or Behind the Scene, made waves in the United States last year. The seven-member group guested in several shows and debuted onstage at the American Music Awards on November 20 last year, drawing adoration from fans worldwide.
Taehyung celebrated his 22nd birthday last December 30, with fans on Twitter making the hashtag #wepurpletaehyung on the day.
BTS’“maknae” or youngest member, Jeon Jungkook, placed 13th on the list, followed by Park Jimin at the 64th spot.
A total of 18 Korean pop personalities made it to the annual Most Handsome Face list by the Independent Critics. Led by British film critic TC Candler, the Independent Critics have been making lists since 1990.
The lists have, over the years, become internet sensations. SHINee’s Jonghyun also made it to the list at the 27th spot. He, however, passed away last December 18.
Filipino drama favorites Nam Joo Hyuk and Lee Min Ho also joined the array of handsome faces, placing 23rd and 84th, respectively.
BIGBANG’s Taeyang, meanwhile, ranked 19th. Taeyang or Dong Yong Bae in real life recently announced his engagement to actress and host Min Hyo Rin. The two are expected to wed next month.
