Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) Deputy City Director for Administration Artemio Ricabo said they will conduct a thorough investigation of this case through the Investigation and Detective Management Branch (IDMB).

The City Internal Affairs and Services (CIAS) of the CCPO will also help to seek for the truth on the issues of two cops who allegedly asked for P3,000 and a sack of rice in exchange for security and protection from their fellow policemen.

Ricabo said that they will trace these cops and, if proven guilty, they will be charged according to the law.

He assured that they will identify these policemen and will face consequences of their actions that are against their sworn duty as a police.

"Ilhon to (ang mga pulis nga nangayo)," Ricabo said.

Meanwhile, the Mabolo Police Station has closed the said carnival last December 29 for allegedly conducting illegal gambling activities.

“Illegal gambling kay nagduwa sila og bola-bola kwarta ang pusta. Dapat naay token. Nakita man nato nga masud man gyud ang elements of gambling. Naa gyuy report nga kanang perya conducting illegal gambling activity,” said Ricabo.

The said carnival business has been reportedly operating constantly in the aforementioned place.

Ricabo, on the other hand, warned carnival operators who conduct similar activities to stop this kind business and secure permits from the authorities.

He admitted that the police can't focus so much on this issue because they cater to bigger cases but they'll make sure that if they receive information, they will immediately respond to it.

"Mo-disperse, (pero) ig lakaw sa pulis mobalik ra pod. Usahay pulis ray bantayan unya di raman gud kana atong giatiman," Ricabo said on catching illegal carnival operators.
