Talisay City Police Station has requested the Cebu Provincial Police Office (CPPO) to let the 12 reassigned police officials to temporarily stay in the station pending the arrival of substitute personnel.

It was reported that on Thursday, Talisay City deputy chief Police Inspector Inar Vic Florece received the reassignment order of 12 personnel who were not present at the station when CPPO Director Senior Superintendent Edgar Alan Okubo conducted a surprise visit on December 30.

Florece said that once the 12 personnel will report to the Provincial Holding Unit, the station would lack enough personnel which may affect their daily operations.

While they are waiting for additional policemen, they are requesting for the reassignment order of the 12 personnel to take effect next week.

Florece also explained that there was some miscommunication which caused the 12 personnel to be relieved from their post.

To avoid a similar incident, the station has posted all the contact numbers of each personnel so that they can be reached anytime.

Meanwhile, CPPO Deputy Director for Administration, Police Superintendent Jaime Quiocho Jr., said that they will scrutinize all the personnel that will be substituting the 12 relieved police officers.

“We will look for other personnel who have no derogatory record na siyang ipapalit sa na-relieve doon na police. Titingnan natin para masiguro natin na ang papalit sa Talisay ay walang problema kaya nga tayo nagtanggal ng personnel roon dahil wala sila roon during inspection by our Provincial Director,” said Quiocho.

Quiocho said that Okubo's directive was to make sure that the police personnel substituting for the vacated posts will not cause any headaches.

“Sabi niya ay huwag madaliin ang pagpapalit dahil baka ang ipapalit ay magdadagdag na naman sa problema doon sa Talisay. Ayusin natin ng husto na ang dadalhin natin roon ay mag-perform ng maayos,” Quiocho added.

He said that they will be getting personnel from the Provincial Public Safety Company (PPSC) as well as from the Provincial Personnel Holding and Accounting Unit who have no derogatory records.

Contrary to previous report, Quiocho clarified that there is only one police officer added to the list of those who will be relieved following to the second inspection conducted by Quiocho himself on Thursday.

“Recently ay may shooting incident sa Talisay. Nautusan si Captain Emia na i-follow-up, pumunta din ako, when we were there ina-account ang personnel para tingnan kung may pagbabago, nakita naming na may wala na naman doon. Anim siya pero ang dalawa ay kasali na doon sa 12, ang dalawa naman nakahabol ng pinatawag natin,” said Quiocho.

He also said that three personnel from among the 12 are appealing to CPPO, citing that they have valid reasons for their absence during the station inspection.

Two were allegedly with Florece who had an interview appointment at the Talisay City Gym, while the other one said that he was on New Year's vacation together with Talisay City Police chief, Police Superintendent Jason Villamater.

“Si PD (Provincial Director) na ang magdidisisyon noon,” said Quiocho.
