Cebu set to host NAC World Bodybuilding Championship
For the first time, the Philippines will play host to the NAC World Bodybuilding and Fitness Championships on May 31 to June 3 at the IC3 Convention Center along Pope John Paul II Avenue in Barangay Mabolo, Cebu City.
Dennis Delgado of the organizing Workout Fitness Center said musclemen from over 40 countries around the globe have already signified their intent to flex their wellsculpted muscles in the four-day fitness showdown.
Aside from host PHL, also sending entries are Belgium, Estonia, France, Greece, Hungary, India, Indonesia, Iran, Israel, Italy, Kuwait, Latvia, Lithuania, Malaysia, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Romania, Russia, Slovakia, Spain, Turkey, Ukraine, United Kingdom, Germany, China, Japan, and Korea.
Delgado said each country is allowed to send as many as 18 entries each since there are 18 classes to be contested.
This marks for the first time in 12 years that the annual event will be held in the Asian region as it is usually staged in Europe.
With the help of SeaAir CEO Patrick Tan and the Yupangco Group of Companies, the event is pushing through on Phl soil.
More than the continuous promotion of the said sport, Delgado said it's also their way of promoting tourism in the country.—
