Paulinian named Jose Rizal model student
A senior Elementary Education student of St Paul University Dumaguete was named as one of the Ten Outstanding Jose Rizal Model Students of the Philippines (JRMSP) during a ceremony at the Knights of Rizal International Headquarters in Manila last December 30.
Reynalene Rose Ceynas, a native of Zamboanguita Negros Oriental, was chosen from a pool of nominees of various universities and colleges throughout the country for exemplifying the national hero’s achievements, leadership, and nationalism through academic excellence, extracurricular activities, and community involvement.
The search for the JRMSP is organized by the Order of the Knights of Rizal (OKOR), a civic and patriotic organization and the sole order of knighthood in the Philippines which was created to honor and uphold the ideals of Dr. Rizal. Chartered under Republic Act 646, OKOR is mandated to promote the teachings and values of Dr. Rizal especially among the Filipino youth.
The awarding ceremony coincided with the commemoration of the 121th anniversary of the martyrdom of Dr. Jose P. Rizal.
The College of Arts and Education of St. Paul University Dumaguete is offering courses like AB-Mass Communication, BS.Psychology and Education major in Social Studies promoting and uphold the life of Jose Rizal thru different activities both student leadership and community involvement, spearheading activities that increase the interest among children and youth to love of country and spiritual values.
Reynalene Rose is the first Paulinian in the country to win in this nationwide search.
