CHAMBER BEAT
With a vision to be the engine of Cebu’s business growth towards global competitiveness, the Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) continues its commitment to deliver high quality, innovative services that meet or exceed customers’ requirements through its quality management system (QMS). CCCI AIMS TO CERTIFY
TO THE NEW VERSION
OF QMS ISO 9001
Last September 2010, the Governing Board of the Certification International Philippines, Inc. (CIPI) has approved CCCI’s certification of Quality Management System (QMS) to ISO 9001:2008.
The certification is embodied with the scope of activities such as design, development, and provision of CCCI members with services in membership development, business development and management, and external affairs and relations.
This year, CCCI’s QMS will have to undergo structural revisions to comply to the ISO 9001:2015, the updated 2008 version of the ISO 9001.
This new version makes very logical progressions from previous versions, delivering standards, which address the key issues for both today and the future.
Moreover, the new ISO 9001 promotes enhanced leadership involvement in the management system, introduces risk-based thinking and aligns the QMS policy and objectives with strategy of the organization.
In light of the abovementioned, CCCI is in full preparation to certify to the ISO 9001: 2015.
As part of the preparations of transition audit, CCCI underwent a two-day training dubbed as “Risk-Based Thinking in ISO 9001:2015 – Understanding and Implementing its Requirements” last year.
In a point of fact, CCCI has also been vigorous and completely hands-on in reviewing its QMS to succeed in achieving the recertification to 2015 version of the QMS standard ISO 9001. The organization is in the process of reviewing the procedures and forms to align with the new requirements of ISO standard.
The scheduled pre-audit will be on March 2018while for the scheduled transition audit is this coming month of April 2018.
