Entrepreneurship exposure program for students launched
"We want to give light to the suffering. We want to remind our customers it’s not the end of the world,” says EG, when asked about his “company”, Siga Sipa.
EG is among the 40 tutees of the KA•T•ON Barangay Junior Public High School Tutorial Program with Entrepreneurship Exposure in Barangay Luz.
As one of their initial acitivities last November 23, the tutees were grouped into companies, having their own CEO, COO, and Members of the Board. They then were tasked to come up with their own company name and company logo during their first module for the Entrepreneurship Exposure Program.
The Entrepreneurship Exposure Program is a supplemental program of the KA•T•ON Barangay Junior Public High School Tutorial Program with Entrepreneurship Exposure. It was designed to teach the tutees the values needed in an entrepreneur such as creativity, passion, flexibility, communication, and accountability.
Primarily though, it is intended to capture the free time of tutees and provide them with alternative activities to divert them from online gaming that leads to online gambling.
Entrepreneurship Exposure Program runs four times a week every Tuesday and Thursdays. There are morning sessions for tutees in the afternoon shift and afternoon sessions for tutees in the morning shift. With tutees attending homework assistance on Wednesdays and primary tutorial sessions on Saturdays, they will then be with the KA•T•ON Barangay Junior Public High School Tutorial Program with Entrepreneurship Exposure four days a week.
The KA•T•ON Barangay Junior Public High School Tutorial Program with Entrepreneurship Exposure is designed to comprehensively address the alarming 57 percent dropout rate nationwide by motivating students to #stayinschool.
