Osmeña offered to bet P40,000 that the group of Councilor Joel Garganera won’t pick Rama as its standard bearer if election pushes through next year.

“I’d like to point out that apparently, Mr. Garganera did not accept the challenge which means I’m really convinced they’ve already decided to kick out Rama,” Osmeña told reporters.

The mayor did this after Barug Team Rama belied the rumors posted on Osmeña’s Facebook that the group had a “heated debate” as to who will be its candidate for mayor.

“I’m emphasizing this because I want to show that they are liars. I want to create that embarrassment, make a bet. Dili sila mo dawat,” Osmeña said.

Garganera said the mayor should stop politicking now since election is still next year. Garganera said he does not understand where Osmeña is coming from. Garganera said the group has not decided as to who will run against the incumbent mayor.

“Right now, he is getting nervous. We have time for politics. Right now, trabaho lang sa ta. Let’s focus on solving traffic problem, drainage, flooding, others,” he added.

Rama, for his part, said Osmeña is demonstrating that the latter “is an illegal person.”

“That’s only demonstrating that Tommy is an illegal person because he is into betting. Klaro kaayo he should stop even for mayor because he’s promoting betting,” Rama said.

Rama said he is not into gambling that is why he does not want to give attention to the game of Osmeña.

Rama said there will only be one candidate of Barug Team Rama which is still being decided by the group.

“We will cross the bridge when we get there,” he said.

Rama said the group is still intact contrary to Osmeña’s claim.
