Nocos into Cebuana Lhuillier tennis finals

Cebuana Tiffany Nocos grabbed the first finals ticket in the girls 14 division of the 2018 Cebuana Lhuillier AgeGroup Tennis Circuit-Cebu leg yesterday at the CitiGreen Tennis Resorts in Barangay Punta Princesa, Cebu City.

Nocos will take on Ormoc City's Corazon Lambonao for the championship. Nocos and Lambonao also played in the girls 12 class where Nocos prevailed.

Nocos also barged into the semifinals of the girls 16 after upending Pherl Bless Codero, 6-0, 6-3. Joining her in the semis are Nichole Dela Rita, Rovie Baulete and Shedel Gica.

Davis Ezra Sepulveda and Carlisle Cuizon also made it to the finals in the unisex-8.

Elizabeth Abarquez, for her part, also marched into the semis in the girls 18 via a lopsided victory over Ashley McKenzie 6-0, 6-4. Abarquez will take on Nichole Dela Rita in the next round after the latter silenced Lyra Mae Ramirez, 6-0, 6-1.

The other semis matchup in the girls 18 will be between Shiedel Gica and Pherl Bless Coderos. Gica outsmarted Ellaine Rose Bahonsua, 6-2,6-2, while Coderos dumped Rica Gudelosao, 6-1, 7-6.

Marc Nicole will take on Lorenz Anthony Celis in the semis, while Eric Jay Tangub faces Stephen Zion Guia.

Meanwhile, Aaron Tabura reached the semis of unisex 10-under after beating Juvels Velos, 4-2, 42, while his counsin Clarence Andre outpointed Ellian Lopez.

Hans Cabellon and Brent Cortes will also battle each other in the semis of boys 14.
