Opening leg of Cebu City Airsoft Open Series set April 7-8

-

Exciting airsoft action swings back in this side of the country with the staging of the 2018 Cebu City Airsoft Open Series slated on April 7-8 at the South Road Properties.

The two-day tilt that is open to all airsoft enthusiasts is backed up by the Cebu City Sports Commission in collaboration with the Southern Cebu Airsoft Recon (SCAR) and Guadalupe Airsoft Team (GAT).

"It's been quite a while that we had an airsoft competition here that is why we are coming up with this event," said Councilor Jerry L. Guardo, the City's deputy mayor for sports. "This is just the beginning of a series of tournaments that we will be holding this year."

Jerry and his brother Jeson L. Guardo, who is also the team leader of SCAR, laid down the framework of the tactical shootfest during a meeting yesterday at the city hall together with the members of the organizing committee that include event organizer Alex Macaling, GAT President Teban Baylon, and head marshalls Ramesh Mulchandani and George Jorhe.

Trophies and plaques of recognition will be given away to the top performing teams plus an outright spot in the succeeding legs.

"We will draft the tournament format once we are able to determine the number of teams that will be joining the action. But one thing for sure, all the participants are in for a treat," assured Guardo.
