More traffic policemen eyed for Lapu-Lapu

-

Lapu-Lapu City is eyeing putting more traffic policemen in their streets.

During a press conference, Lapu-Lapu City Mayor Paz Radaza said she needs additional traffic personnel from the police and plans to ask Chief Superintendent Robert Quenery of the Police Regional Office-7 about it.

"Kinahanglan g'yud kay kuwang kaayo ta og traffic police," said Radaza, adding that the traffic in the city is usually heavy.

There are only 12 traffic policemen assigned under the Lapu-Lapu City Police Office, according to Radaza, who plans to add another 12 personnel.

She said this will help the City Traffic Management Systems in managing the flow of traffic, saying that most of them have difficulty in terms of monitoring the traffic.

"Sometimes, ang kaning mga traffic enforcers sa CTMS dili na kaayo nila ma-monitor ang mga tawo nga naa na's tunga's dan," she said.

However, she also reminded CTMS personnel that they should do their best to improve and ease traffic congestion.

Radaza said she was able to talk with LCPO Director Rommel Cabagnot to conduct a seminar and to give tips to CTMS personnel on traffic management with the help of their traffic police.

"Nagsabot mi ni Col. Cabagnot nga ipa-seminar lang sad pud sila aron dunay coordination sa traffic police ug ang CTMS. I-seminar, hatagan og mga tips," she said.

Regarding the additional traffic personnel of LCPO, Radaza said the head of the traffic police department will be the one to assign their posts.

"They will be assigned based on the decision of their immediate head," she said. —
