Woman arrested for drugs in Talisay
A woman who allegedly peddled illegal drugs was nabbed during a buy-bust operation by policemen last Saturday evening in Barangay Tangke, Talisay City.
Superintendent Marlu Conag, Talisay City police chief, said that Arnie Daan, 23, a resident of Barangay Tangke was the companion of the subject of the operation, Ricklyn Cabangca, alias “Cayoy” who was able to escape during the operation.
During the deal, Cabangca suddenly realized he was transacting with a policeman and immediately ran away, leaving Daan behind.
Conag said that the name of Cabangca was mentioned by one of the suspects arrested in buy-bust operation earlier conducted by the Minglanilla police. The suspect allegedly said he sourced his shabu from a certain “Cayoy” Cabangca in Talisay City.
The Minglanilla police relayed the information to Talisay City operatives who immediately conducted an operation. However, the suspect was able to escape.
The police seized from Daan 50 small packs of suspected shabu weighing 8.15 grams and estimated at P61,500.
Cabangca also handed them three small packs of suspected shabu before he found out they were policemen and fled.
Daan is now detained in the Talisay police lock-up facility and will be charged for violation of Republic Act 9165 or The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 together with Cabangca who is still at large.
