Attracting More Kisses This Valentines

-

Today’s The Day

One Year Mini Daily Inspiration

The secret to confident giving and receiving more kisses this Valentine’s Day starts with fresh smelling breath. And here are tips on how to have that fresh breath and sparkling smile, from Gan Advanced Osseointegration Clinic (GAOC):

Brush your teeth. Brushing your teeth at least two to three times a day removes food debris and plaque that causes bacteria to breed in your mouth.

Use dental floss. Flossing helps take out small food particles stuck in difficult-to-reach places between teeth. This small step goes a long way and makes tooth brushing more effective, removing more odor-causing bacteria in the mouth.

Brush your tongue. Improve your daily oral hygiene routine by cleaning your tongue. Use your toothbrush or a dedicated tongue scraper to gently remove bacteria, food debris, toxins, and dead cells lingering on your tongue, allowing for fresher breath.

Gargle with mouthwash. Add this to your routine to combat gum disease and germs in hard-toreach places – the minty fresh breath is just the bonus.

Avoid foods that cause bad breath. It’s hard to resist delicious food, but if you want to earn that post-date smooch, take it easy on garlic, onions, spices, coffee, and cheese which are acidic and change the PH balance in the mouth – and their smell lingers. If you can’t avoid them, drink lots of water and pop a mint afterwards.

Do not smoke. Smoking harms and destroys teeth in the long run. Research shows that smoking also decreases salivary flow, which leads to chronic halitosis, and xerostomia or dry mouth.

Drink plenty of water. Keep your mouth wellhydrated by drinking the highly-recommended eight glasses of water a day. A dry mouth is more susceptible to bad breath, since saliva is necessary to neutralize the acids produced by plaque.

Have regular checkup with your dentist. Keep up with your dental appointments, once or twice a year, to keep track of any irregularities in the condition of your teeth, gums, tongue and the surrounding soft tissue. Your dentist can recommend specific treatments to address current problems, and even prevent new ones from developing. Get your teeth professionally cleaned, too.
