Longest-running firearms show comes to Cebu
The Defense and Sporting Arms Show (DSAS), known as the longest-running firearms show in the country, is set to hold its first edition in Cebu on April 5 to 8 at the Cebu Trade Hall, SM City Cebu.
DSAS is organized by the Association of Firearms and Ammunition Dealers of the Philippines, Inc. (AFAD). Those interested to visit the show can register online at www.afad.ph/dsas.
“Aside from promoting the ammunition industry, one of our main goals is to provide convenience to our gun enthusiasts, soldiers, and policemen from the Visayas region who need services from the PNP LTOPF & PTCFOR Caravan,” World-class shooting champion and AFAD President Jethro Dionisio said.
Aligned with AFAD’s vision to support the government’s campaign against loose firearms and private armies, the DSAS aims to uphold responsible firearm ownership and to promote the firearms and ammunition industry as well as shooting as a sport. “With this annual Defense and Sporting Arms Show, our countrymen are continually informed, updated, and educated of responsible gun ownership which contributes to safer and more secured communities,” affirmed Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa.
For its Cebu edition, DSAS is given the theme “Moving Forward: Expanding to New Territories.” Dionisio assured visitors of a “fully-loaded, improved, and diverse firearm show.” He even added that a wide selection of firearms, ammunition, and shooting paraphernalia await defense and sports shooters.
AFAD is also bringing the PNP Caravan, which is designed to bring convenience to applicants of LTOPF and Firearms Registration. Aside from this, PTCFOR application will also be offered at the show. Firearm owners who wish to avail of the services at the PNP Caravan are advised to check the list of requirements and step-by-step procedure posted on the Defense and Sporting Arms Show Facebook account.
“Altogether, let us choose safety and security for our families and our territory. We look forward to seeing you at DSAS Cebu,” Dionisio said.
