SM2SM Run 8 draws over 6T entries

Over 6,000 runners are expected to take part in the SM2SM Run 8 this Sunday starting and ending at the SM City-Cebu parking lot.

The route of the annual race, which features the 4K, 8K, 12K, and 21K categories, is unique because it will pass through some heritage locations in Cebu.

Registrati­on officially closed yesterday and SM Supermalls PR Manager RJ Leduna said it is all systems go for the fun-filled race.

"All is set for the run this Sunday. I hope all the runners are ready to race with the new race course. It's getting exciting each year so I wish them all good luck," Leduna said.

The organizers are allocating more than P1 million for the cash prize of the winners as well as for the raffle draw.

The major prizes for the raffle are eight Cathay Pacific roundtrip tickets from Cebu to Hong Kong, eight

Samsung Galaxy Note 8, and eight Samsung LED TV.

Proceeds of the event will go to the Cebu Newsworker­s Foundation, Inc. and The Street Children of Cebu Foundation.

Meanwhile, Cebuana Olympic marathoner Mary Joy Tabal will by vying for her sixth straight title in the women's 21K action. A marathon record-holder, she had been dominating the race since 2013.—
