The Land Transportation Office (LTO)-7 has finally rolled out the printing of driver's license cards with a fiveyear validity at its District License Renewal Office (DLRO) inside a mall at the North Reclamation Area yesterday.

Cebu City Vice Mayor Edgardo Labella was among the hundreds of people who availed of their service.

LTO-7 Assistant Regional Director Alita Pulga said that Labella, who was also their guest speaker yesterday, was able to get his license in about six minutes.

Labella was thankful that processing of driver's licenses are getting faster under the current administration.

As of February 3, 2018, the LTO-7 has a backlog of about 373,059 in the printing of the new driver's license, said Pulga.

She added that the LTO7 has since released a total of 23,001 driver's license with a five-year validity.

Pulga said that the DLRO at SM City Cebu is the 16th office of LTO7 that has rolled out the five-year validity driver's license.

At present, there are just three LTO offices left that would have to offer this kind of service.

These are the LTOMedellin Extension Office in Cebu, Robinsons-DLRO in Cebu City and LTOTalibon Extension Office in Bohol.

Pulga said that the DLRO at SM City Cebu will be releasing these driver's licenses (renewal and backlog only) from Monday to Friday at 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The LTO offices that can print the new driver's license will also be open on Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. to cater to backlog transactions only.
