Will Sam-Yassi tandem click?

Yassi Pressman and Sam Milby reunite in “Ang Pambansang Third Wheel,” a romantic comedy movie produced by Viva Films and The Idea First Company.

Yassi plays Trina, a receptionist turned copywriter in an advertising company. She has a very active imagination and believes that every person is destined to meet someone that will keep her or him company in this life’s journey. Already in her 30s, Trina is yet to find the person for her. She’s had her heart broken thrice, and has long accepted the awkward status of being a third wheel to her dating friends. She swears she won’t fall for a guy until she’s sure that he meets her standards.

Sam plays Neo, an art director who gets partnered with Trina in an advertising project. Beyond his good looks, Trina finds something in him that makes her break down the wall she’s built to protect her heart. Neo admits he has loved three women, but his revelation about having an eight-yearold son devastates Trina. To make matters worse, the boy’s mother still makes her presence felt.

Now third-wheeling between Neo and her son, does Trina have a chance of being Neo’s only one?

Directed by Van Andrew Payawal, “Ang Pambansang Third Wheel” is getting positive reactions from netizens because of its storyline and chemistry between the lead stars who both starred in the movie “Camp Sawi.”

In explaining Yassi’s character, Director Payawal said, “She wants to be the priority but since she accepted this man into her life, she has to adjust.”

Sam is coming off the success of “Doble Kara,” an afternoon show on ABS-CBN that ran for more than a year, while Yassi is currently enjoying her role as Alyanna in “FPJ’s Ang Probinsiyano,” the number one teleserye on Philippine Primetime TV.

Just recently, Sam and Yassi levelled up the public’s excitement as they were seen giving free hugs around the metro.

“Ang Pambansang Third Wheel” opens in cinemas nationwide on Wednesday, March 7.

At the recent thanksgiving press conference of “The Blood Sisters,” award-winning actress Ms. Cherry Pie Picache revealed that her father did not talk to her for six years.

The actress said her dad is not in favor of her being an actress. But since it is her dream, Cherry Pie pursued it with passion. She never buckled down despite the lack of support from her dad.

But she promised herself that she will make sure she will be good at her chosen profession. She wanted to show her dad that she made the right choice in pursuing her dream to become an actress.

Cherry Pie didn’t entertain illusions to become a superstar or be someone famous. What she wanted was to gain respect as an actress. And she proved equal to the challenge she brought on herself. She is considered one of the country’s most competent performers.

She has numerous awards and recognitions to attest to her mettle as an actress. In the list of winners of the Golden Screen Awards, Cherry Pie is one of the few who won awards in the drama and comedy categories. She won Outstanding Actress -Drama for “Foster Child” and Outstanding Actress-Comedy for “Bridal Shower.”

Despite her awardwinning status, Cherry Pie doesn’t rest on her laurels and still believes in being prepared for a role, whether for a movie or a teleserye. In “The Blood Sisters,” she admitted going back to reading her script to prepare before doing a scene since she saw Erich Gonzales (who plays her daughter) doing the same thing.

“Nakakahiya naman kay Erich. Kaya dapat prepared din ako. Siguro dahil na rin sa matagal na ako sa showbiz, minsan nalilimutan ko na rin ‘yung pagbabasa ng script bago mag-take. Pero iba pa rin ‘yung preparado ka sa eksena so thank you Erich for reminding me na dapat maging handa sa bawat eksena,” said Ms. Cherry Pie.

“The Blood Sisters” has been getting very good feedback from televiewers since it began airing last week.
