17 people nabbed, P200T ‘shabu’ seized
Seventeen suspected drug personalities yielded around P200,000 worth of illegal drugs in separate antiillegal drug operations in the cities of Danao and LapuLapu and Pinamungajan town over the weekend.
In buy-bust operations in Barangays Maslog and Poblacion in Danao City, police arrested 10 drug suspects, resulting in the seizure of P191,750 worth of shabu.
They are Sunyboy Matiga, Larry Cuenca, Michale Batulan, Jemeo Flores Jr., Reggie Mangas, Judy Juntilla, Laurente Paradiang, Teodulfo Roxas Jr., Francis Bayang, and Edzel Jay Cuizon.
Seized from the suspects were 19 small and two medium sachets of suspected shabu weighing 16.25 grams.
In Pinamungajan, six drug suspects, including four who were caught in the act of having a pot session, were arrested Saturday evening in Barangay Poblacion.
Police Officer 1 Micheal Vincent Balicoco of Pinamungajan Police Station said they were tipped off about the involvement of certain Chalem Isok, 30, in the illegal drug trade.
Pinamungajan police verified the report and subsequently conducted a buy-bust operation against Isok and his alleged cohort, 27-year-old Marites Deroy.
Deroy tried to run inside her residence after sensing that they were transacting to a police poseur-buyer, but the latter caught him after a brief chase.
Four other suspects engaged in a pot session inside Deroy’s house were also arrested. They are Jovel Gines, 20; Julius Bagahansol, 37; Marvin Deroy, 19; and Leobert Gino, 23.
Recovered from the suspects were three small packs of suspected shabu and assorted drug paraphernalia.
Meanwhile in Barangay Basak, Lapu-Lapu City, police arrested Alfredo Fernandez Silawan, 22, in a buy-bust operation Saturday evening.
Eleven sachets of shabu worth P3,600 were recovered from Silawan’s possession.
Charges will be filed against all 17 suspects for violating Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
