The Great British Festival, March 10–18
Everyone’s invited to explore the flavors of the United Kingdom as the British Embassy Manila presents “The Great British Festival.” Now on its fifth year, the event brings the celebration of British culture and innovation to Cebu for the very first time, exclusively at The Pig & Palm.
The Pig & Palm is the first restaurant in the Philippines of Michelinstarred, British Chef Jason Atherton, who has 17 restaurants worldwide. For the weeklong promotion of the festival’s Cebu leg from March 10-18, a selection of beef dishes will be offered. Diners may indulge in a traditional Beef Wellington with Truffle Mashed Potatoes and Honey-Glazed Carrots, Beef Tartare with Truffle Goat’s Curd and Pickled Onions, and 300 grams Fillet or Ribeye Steak. A special Johnnie Walker-based cocktail will also be available for the period.
“We are importing British beef especially for this occasion. All featured dishes will be using 35day dry-aged beef to bring out the beef’s full flavor potential,” shares Head Chef Karl Emsen.
True to its vision of providing a Michelin-level dining experience, The Pig & Palm will be sourcing the beef for its dishes from East Anglia through C&K Meats, whose history in the industry stretches back over 200 years. C&K Meats handpicks the best breeds that graze on a rich diversity of grasses in river valleys, salt marshes, and meadows, giving their meat an incredible flavor and texture fit for the most discerning palates worldwide.
The #GreatBritishFestival celebrates British fashion, music, design, education and food. It kicked off on February 23, this year, at the Glorietta Mall and will extend across the Philippines to Cebu, Iloilo, Dumaguete, and Baguio.
The Pig & Palm is open Tuesdays to Sundays from 11 a.m. onwards. It is located at the MSY Tower, Pescadores Road, Cebu Business Park, Cebu City. The website is at www.thepigandpalm.ph. For reservations, diners may call +63 917 657 6866 or (032) 255 8249.
