Magpale said she does not want to run anymore. In fact, she already asked permission from Governor Hilario Davide III.

“Nananghid na gyud ko nga dili modagan for vice gov,” she said.

Magpale said the governor expressed his disapproval. But she said her decision not to run remains until now.

She continued that she would want to take things at her pace, emphasizing her age as a factor. Magpale shared that she hopes she can make it up to 80 years old like her parents did.

The vice governor was alarmed by the Facebook page named “Cebu for Cebuanos.” The page used Magpale’s image as its profile picture. Moreover, the content of the page were trivia about her and her accomplishments.

One of the posts states that Magpale was the first and only provincial government official so far, who have been to all the barangays in Cebu while another talks about the lineage of the incumbent vice governor.

“My daughter told me about that. Dili na ako. It must be somebody who really knows me,” she said.

She said she has a personal Facebook account but she is not well-versed in using social media. She continued that she rarely opens it for she needs someone else’s assistance in order to navigate through the smartphone.

Text messages and calls remain to be her preferred means of communicating with her family, friends, and colleagues. She asked one of her staff to find out who was the person behind the page.

“Whoever posted that please take that out. Tuo pa lang nangompanya ko,” she appealed.

At present, the page has reached over a thousand impressions and almost 200 likes. It was found out a few days ago.
