5 Mind-Blowing Gadgets in 2018

- By Gosia Kurowska

The annual Consumer Electronics Show (CES) early this year gave a glimpse of the latest cutting-edge technology that was likely to change people’s lives. Five gadgets stood out.

The end of bad habits

Several companies have developed devices that react to bad behavior. Those who are tired of snoring bed partners may see hope in the Snore Circle’s eye mask that vibrates and nudges the user into another position if he or she makes noises at night.

Or those who’d like to get rid of an annoying habit of picking their skin may buy themselves a Keen, a smart bracelet that will give a buzz whenever they’re at it again.

Not exactly a bad habit, but as annoying: for women that suffer from bladder leaks after childbirth, smart underwear has been developed that tracks urine loss and motivates its owner to keep exercising.

Smarter, healthier and safer homes

Homes will become smarter – a wide range of temperature-adjusting, pollution-detecting and humiditymeasuring gadgets were on display at CES this year.

Some of these gadgets go even further; the house lights and plug sockets can now automatically react to the residents’ presence, without having to receive any commands. House residents just have to wear their smartphones or Bluetooth-connected devices, and their homes will know what to do.

And what about the sofa watching out after one’s health? It only takes getting a smart couch that not only wirelessly charges the phone or tablet, but also tracks how long one has watched TV while monitoring the person’s posture.
