203 guns surrendered to police by Liloan, Dumanjug residents
A total of 172 loose firearms were surrendered to the Philippine National Police by the community, local government units and barangay officials of the town of Liloan from January to April this year.
Chief Inspector Randy Korret, Liloan Police Station chief, is thankful to the community for its cooperation in the effort to have peaceful and orderly elections.
“Since pagdating ko dito (Liloan) ay kinausap ko na agad ang mga barangay official na kung sino sa constituents sa kanila ang may loose firearms ay ipasurrender na before pa naming sila ma-conduct-an ng operation,” said Korret in a phone interview with The FREEMAN.
Liloan police together with Comelec officials and majority of the barangay candidates in the town also conducted a peace walk and had an integrity pledge last Wednesday.
“Walang covenant signing kasi we believe na peace loving ang mga taga-Liloan,” Korret said.
