Facebook’s “Dating”

-

Various technology news sites and rumor blogs have recently run op-ed pieces forecasting that Apple will be winding down or altogether stop the production of the “iPhone X” handset this year.

Citing lackluster earnings by companies that are linked to the production of the device as the cause, the report says that Apple is likely going to cancel the current version of the device in favor of a new version that’ll be made available at a cheaper price.

The “iPhone X” was launched last year as a commemorative model to mark the iPhone’s 10th anniversary. Built with premium components, the device bore an “all screen” design concept that did away with the traditional Home Button at its front.

It’s been forecasted that Apple will be unveiling three “iPhone” models this year. A new cost-friendlier version of the “iPhone X” is supposedly one of the three.

A new Facebook-anchored dating/ matchmaking feature was unveiled last week during the course of this year’s annual “F8” Facebook developers’ conference.

Simply named “Dating” and slated for field testing later in the year, the feature basically mirrors the matchmaking and communication features of popular dating app-and-service suites.

Running with service features that are calibrated to help its users pursue romantic connections, a “Dating” profile is positioned to be separate from a Facebook profile.

Those who will use the feature will have access to a dedicated inbox for text-only messages that, like the “Dating” profile, will be separate from the main Facebook profile and Messenger inbox.

“Dating” will also run with a special algorithm to match users based on Facebook data on common interests, dating preferences and mutual Facebook friends.

The service’s special algorithm will also be able to match users based on shard groups and events data – like which concerts a user attends, which restaurant he/she frequently goes to, the types of events a user regularly goes to and the like. More information on “Dating” is hosted on Facebook’s official online channels. domain or website name like “example. com,” the .com being the TLD. The new TLD would read something like “example.app.” More information on the new TLD is hosted on Google’s official channels.
