Que-led hotel brand expands to bed-and-breakfast category
Anticipating the influx of budget-conscious travelers from all over the world, Golden Prince Hotel & Suites announced its entry to bed-andbreakfast hospitality business category.
Hotel president Benedict Y. Que bared the company's plan as tourism has shown its vigor and is expected to sustain in the longer term.
Since 1994, Que's family has been in the hospitality business with the establishment of the 50-room Golden Valley Hotel in the downtown area.
Twelve years after in 2006, the family, which is also into pawnshop and merchandizing business opened the first tower of Golden Prince Hotel with 57 rooms, followed by the building of Golden Prince Tower 2 in 2016.
Today, the business hotel located adjacent to Cebu Business Park, has a total of 160 rooms.
Que said while Golden Prince Hotel and Suites accommodates both business and leisure transients, the company sees good potential for no-frill accommodation facility, otherwise called as bed-and-breakfast.
The company, Que said is looking at opening another 150 bed-and-breakfast rooms in Cebu starting next year.
Que, who now chairs the Cebu Business Month (CBM 2018) celebration in June, added that the company's plan to expand in the category of economy accommodation is also boosted by the low cost airlines — Air Asia's strong confidence of the growth of non-luxurious travelers.
The family, he said has existing landbank for this planned expansion.
Aside from hotel business, the family part-owns the Prime Homes development firm, which has residential subdivision projects in Compostela, Consolacion and Minglanilla.
Golden Prince Hotel and Suites has gained patronage for "Unique Cebuano Royalty Experience" proposition, promoting Cebuano heritage especially in food offerings.
The hotel is also partnering with different schools in helping their modules and OJT programs, and opening the hotel for hands-on training.
