The Land Transportation Office7 yesterday launched its second Offsite Printing Office in Cebu. It is located on the 3rd floor of Island Central Mactan(ICM) in Lapu-Lapu City.

LTO-7 Director Victor Caindec said the operation of the new office will reduce the backlog of driver's license cards for printing. The offsite printing office will cater to printing of backlog license cards with 5-year validity or Official Receipts issued from November 2, 2016 onwards and transacted within Central Visayas only.

The office is equipped with three working stations with a capacity of printing 200 license cards for the regular lane and 100 cards for the priority lane or for persons with disability, pregnant, and senior citizens.

Caindec said that his attention was called by Special Assistant to the President Secretary Christopher Lawrence "Bong" Go about the backlogs of driver's license in the region. He said that Eric Lim, chief operating officer of ICM offered to provide a space at ICM for free including free use of internet, water, and electricity.

"Ang counterpart sa LTO is that we provide five personnel," Caindec said.

Caindec and Lim signed the memorandum of agreement last Saturday in the presence of Go. The offsite printing office will be open to the public from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Mondays to Sundays.

The office will be closed every 3rd Saturday and Sunday of the month together with all the LTO District, Extension, Driver's License Renewal centers for preventive system maintenance.

Aside from the offsite printing office in Lapu-Lapu City, four other LTO offices are also open to provide services to the public. These are the TOPO SM Seaside City Cebu (Mondays to Sundays); DLRO SM City Cebu (Saturdays); Mandaue City Licensing Center - J Centre Mall (Saturdays); and Cebu City Licensing Center (Saturdays).

Caindec said the LTO-7 will soon have two other district offices in Medellin and Lapu-Lapu City.

Meanwhile, Caindec said he will serve today the relief order against the district office head in Tagbilaran City, Bohol.

He said the district officer in Tagbilaran City had been subject of several complaints via 888 hotline and the LTO facebook page.—
