Retired chief inspector Reynaldo Valmoria will start his work as the jail warden of CPDRC starting today, replacing outgoing OIC warden Roberto "Bobby" Legaspi.

Valmoria, 57, has served the PNP for 32 years. He was born in Barangay Tisa, Cebu City, but grew up in Banban, Siquijor Province, and served his last police assignment as the leader of the Siquijor Provincial Public Safety Platoon.

Legaspi said they expect Valmoria to continue what they have started in their campaign against illegal drugs in CPDRC and to focus on how to prevent contraband from being sneaked into the jail.

He also expects Valmoria to be strict in securing the prison.

"Apply his wisdom, what he obtained from military and PNP. We know he could do it," Legaspi said.

Legaspi will guide Valmoria on his first days and weeks as CPDRC warden. He said the CPDRC task force can also guide the new warden regarding the rules and policies that need to be implemented.

He said Valmoria will also be introduced to partner law enforcement agencies of CPDRC, particularly the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency and Provincial Mobile Force Company.

When asked for his specific strategy to clean the CPRDC, Valmoria said he has to see the situation for himself first and he will “cross the bridge when he gets there.”

Valmoria and Legaspi are set to go to CPDRC today.
