Sharon gets new Star Cinema project
Cesar Montano has resigned from his post as head of the Tourism Promotions Board.
This was due to the alleged anomalous transaction regarding the project “Buhay Karinderya… Redefined” where the company Mary Lindbert International, owned by Ms. Linda Legaspi, the TPB partner in the project, was found to have already received full payment for services that have yet to be rendered.
Cesar’s name and that of former Department of Tourism Secretary Wanda Teo had been linked to the alleged anomalous transaction.
In his statement after he resigned, the actor said it was former DOT Sec. Teo who introduced him to Linda Legaspi, head of Mary Lindbert International.
It was also Mrs. Teo who gave the go-signal to issue the full payment to Mary Lindbert International even if the project has not been fully implemented.
According to the comments of netizens, it is not enough that Cesar and Mrs. Teo resigned due to the issue. They say the two should be indicted for the anomalous transaction they have made.
If we know Cesar, he won’t go to such extent to destroy the good name he has built through the years. But there was also a complaint filed against him by his former TPB staff for his alleged wrong decisions in running the government agency.
Star Circuit believes Cesar should talk to the new DOT Sec. Bernadette Romulo-Puyat to give his side of the story. Besides, we should not be too quick to judge and let the actor answer the charges in the proper forum. While a case has yet to be filed against him regarding the alleged anomalous Buhay Karinderya project, we shall presume him to be innocent until proven otherwise if and when charges are filed against him.

Sharon Cuneta posted in her social media account a picture of her meeting with Star Cinema for her new film project. The Megastar is excited with her new film for which no leading man has yet been picked.
An entertainment portal run a poll on who the fans would like to be Sharon’s leading man. Star Circuit tallied the scores based on the comments of the fans.
Number one choice is Gabby Concepcion who, we all know, declined the project that he was supposed to do with Sharon last year which botched up Sharon’s schedule. He also made things difficult for Sharon and Star Cinema again this year with his demands that resulted to Sharon resigning from the new film project that was also offered to him and the Megastar.
Well, we can’t blame the diehard Sharon-Gabby fans if they are still hankering for a team-up even it is clear as day that Gabby is not interested in doing a film with Sharon for reasons he can only answer.
Second choice in the list is Richard Gomez who also became Sharon’s boyfriend in the past.
Third in the list, based on the comments, is Robin Padilla who was Sharon’s leading man in “Unexpectedly Yours” which was a hit.
Other names mentioned in the comments were Christopher de Leon, Empoy Marquez, Aga Muhlach, Piolo Pascual, Ian Veneracion, Bembol Rocco, John Estrada, Edu Manzano, Rowell Santiago, JM De Guzman, Alden Richards, Dingdong Dantes and Bayani Agbayani.
Of course, we can’t help but squirm in our seat when we also got to read nasty comments like Sharon should stop doing movies because she’s fat or that Sharon lied about her losing weight because she is still fat. Some called her “laos” while others picked her husband Sen. Kiko Pangilinan to be her leading man.
Some comments were too nasty, prompting other fans in the thread to label them as trolls and were just commenting to discredit Sharon.
There were good comments though like Sharon should not get a leading man but should get a good story that would fit her stature, something like “Madrasta” for which Sharon scored a grandslam best actress award feat.
They believe Sharon still has a strong fan base and a good movie will get her fans to come in full force and make her film a box-office hit.
Aside from her forthcoming movie, Sharon’s fans should also watch out for her concert series as part of the celebration of her 40th anniversary in showbiz.
Said concert series had started in Cebu and will be staged in Bacolod in June, with the grand finale happening on September 27 and 28 at the Araneta Coliseum.
