Run for a cause opens CSTHS Brigada Eskwela

The Compostela Science and Technology High School in Compostela, Cebu on Monday, May 28, held its firstever run for a cause as a kick-off activity for the school's observance of the Brigada Eskwela week.

The activity was aimed at educating the public on the purposes of Brigada Eskwela as well as to invite more stakeholde­rs to take part in realizing the school’s various needs in preparatio­n for the coming school year.

The run for a cause was made possible with the participat­ion of some private companies, local government units and agencies, members of the Philippine National Police in Compostela, philanthro­pic individual­s, Parents Teachers Associatio­n (PTA) and students.

Among the major sponsors were Union Galvasteel Corporatio­n, Norkis Group of Companies, Smart Padala, Cenu Mitsumi Multipurpo­se Cooperativ­e (CEMIMPCO, Green Rose Center for Academe, and Author Solutions Philippine­s.

Mrs. Ma. Teresa P. Selanoba, school principal, together with Mrs. Marivic Suello, PTA representa­tive, presented the school’s priority projects that included general electrical refurbishm­ent, installati­on of additional water connection­s, repair of school buildings and general cleaning and beautifica­tion.

Selanoba said all proceeds of the run for a cause and donations to the Brigada Eskwela will be used for these projects.

Brigada Eskwela, which runs from May 28-June 2, is a nationwide undertakin­g of the Department of Education that aims to prepare all schools for the opening of classes in June.
