Eric Ramos, 30, suffered a gunshot wound to his belly after he allegedly tried to shoot it out with the personnel of the Abellana Police Station.

Ramos, a resident of Sitio Manol in Barangay Tisa, was rushed to the hospital for treatment. He is now placed under hospital arrest.

The stepson, on the other hand, was brought to Operation Second Chance, a juvenile detention center in Barangay Kalunasan.

Based on initial investigation, Abellana police responded to an armed person alarm, which led to a chase with Ramos and his stepson who were onboard a motorcycle.

Ramos, who was driving the motorcycle, allegedly pulled out his gun and fired at the responding policemen, said Abellana Deputy Chief Greg Ybiernas.

The police retaliated, hitting Ramos in the stomach. Two unlicensed firearms, a .45 caliber pistol, .38 revolver, and four live ammunition were recovered from Ramos.
