Employees, local officials plant mangroves in Liloan

-

Employees of KYOCERA Document Solutions Development Philippines Inc. (KDDP) and officials of Barangay Tayud in Liloan planted 150 mangroves in Purok Manga last June 2 to culminate the company's Nature Week 2018 celebration.

The officials of Barangay Tayud provided the propagules and led the KDDP employees in planting the mangroves around the fishpond area of Purok Manga. As part of their commitment to the activity, the employees pledged to ensure the survival of the planted mangroves until they will be selfsufficient.

KDDP Sports and Recreation Committee Chairman Chrislyn Albinda-Origenes said that the activity was conducted to raise awareness that not only forests are to be saved, but also our waters.

“It was fortunate that the weather has cooperated. The rain stopped while we were planting.”

Eco Modelo, ECOstume, Earth Work and Eco bazaar were among the activities conducted to raise environmental awareness and support in this year’s Nature Week celebration.

“Environmental consciousness must start at home, as an individual through recycling and participating a zero-waste lifestyle," said Origenes as a message to fight environmental issues.

KDDP has been conducting weeklong environmental activities for two years now through their Nature Week celebration to support KYOCERA’s corporate environmental mission.
