Negros Or. SK Fed elects new officials

The Sanggunian­g Kabataan Federation of Negros Oriental has elected its new set of officers and a president who will represent the youth, as an ex-officio member of the Provincial Board.

Elected SK Federation provincial president was Adem Maxino of Bindoy town, who got 16 votes against Danni Tolentino of Dumaguete City who had nine votes, during the election held at the Negros Oriental Convention Center in Dumaguete City.

The elected vice president was Tristan Gold Torillo of Bayawan City who also got 16 votes to defeat Emmanuel Bacay of San Jose town who had nine votes.

Other officers elected were Blanche Solamillo of Dauin town, as secretary; Avon Loraine Mission of Mabinay (treasurer); Christene May Amazon of Bais City (auditor); Jasper Jacob Nusan of Ayungon (public relations officer); and Christian Jay Cabebe of Vallehermo­so (sergeant-at-arms).

Maxino, after the oath-taking, told the local media that she was grateful to those who voted for her and very honored for giving her the mandate and the highest responsibi­lity in the SK leadership. She said she will convene the officers and members to plan for their three-year developmen­t plan and will implement what she had promised them.

DILG provincial officer Dennis Quinones, who administer­ed the oathtaking rites, reminded the newly elected SK Federation provincial officers that what is entrusted to them is a public office and so they must act as public servants at all times, because a public office is a public trust.
