Lancers eye share of lead

-

The University of the Visayas (UV) Green Lancers will try to stretch their unbeaten run to three games when they go up against the Southwestern University (SWU)-Phinma Cobras in the 2018 Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation, Inc. (CESAFI) Partner’s Cup today at the Cebu Coliseum.

After pounding the Active Casino/University of San Jose-Recoletos (USJ-R) Jaguars and Cebu Landmasters-University of San Carlos (USC) Warriors,

the Lancers now set their sights on a share of collegiate division lead with the 3-0 M. Lhuillier Kwarta Padala-University of Cebu (UC) Webmasters.

The Lancers will square off against the Cobras in the main match of a scheduled triple-header at 4 p.m.

UV must be extra careful though as the Cobras are coming off a morale-boosting 80-73 triumph over USC that snapped out of their twogame jinx against UC, and Organique California-University of Southern Philippines Foundation (USPF) Panthers.

Like their big brothers, the Baby Lancers also shoot for their third straight victory as they tackle the Cebu Eastern College (CEC) Dragons at 2:30 p.m.

The UV bantams put the stigma of their upset loss to USPF behind by trouncing USC and USJ-R.

The Baby Lancers are expected to face tough challenge from the Dragons, who finally barged into the win column with a 71-68 upset of the Baby Warriors just two nights ago.

In the other juniors division duel, the Baby Jaguars and the Cebu Institute of Technology-University (CIT-U) Wildkittens both aim to end their two-game slide when they take on each other in the 1p.m opener.
