New tools for Facebook content creators
While its sister social network was basking in the IGTV launch afterglow, Facebook had the rollout of a new set of tools for video content creators.
Game-show-like features to ‘live’ videos are among the tools included in the update, along with support for video templates (currently on beta/for-testing phase), support for content Rights Management, a “Brands Collabs Manager,” support for “Fan Subscriptions,” and more.
The game-show feature allows a content creator to come up with interactive Q&A segments for live video broadcasts. Content creators can use the feature to broadcast game shows, have audiences answer questions and “boot off” those who get answers wrong.
A polls function is also included in the new tools set which content creators can use to formulate polls for live or pre-recorded videos.
Apart from the new tools, Facebook also rolled out the “application only” (meaning, a content creator has to sign up for it) “Facebook for Creators Launchpad.” The monetization-anchored suite is essentially aimed for content creators who produce “authentic content” and are “focused on building a loyal community of fans.”
The rollout of the new tools heralds significant changes in short- and long-form video content to be seen on Facebook in the days to come.
